I hold a Masters and Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Reading and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
I am a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and included on the BACP Register for Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I am a BUPA Recognised Mental Health and Wellbeing Therapist.
I am registered with Aviva Insurance to provide counselling services.
I abide by the BACP Code of Ethics and hold professional indemnity insurance.
I pay careful attention to client consent and confidentiality as this is a fundamental requirement for maintaining a trustworthy and honest relationship between therapist and client.
I attend regular supervision for my client work with a BACP Accredited Supervisor in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy's Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
I was the Clinical Manager of a Counselling Service in a large Further Education College for over ten years working with young people and adults. I have experience of working as a volunteer counsellor at a youth and adult counselling agency. I am a Senior Accredited Practitioner in Children and Young People (CYP).
I work as a counselling supervisor at a youth counselling agency and a centre working with vulnerable women.
I continually update my skills with professional development courses.
I strongly believe that all issues that people may bring are of equal importance and I feel that psychotherapy/counselling is for anyone who feels they are in a difficult place in their lives and might have a need for some help from someone who is not involved personally and can therefore give honest and non-judgemental support.
